Last night, Social Distortion played in Zurich, Switzerland. Thanks to some clever moves and important contacts, we managed to get a good spot to park. And it was great to see that Tom is taking good care of my old 63 Belair.
BBQs are a big thing at this time of year. There's always something to celebrate even if it's just about having fun with our rides. This past friday we had another nice little party with a great range of cars. Different strokes for different folks, they say. But they were all united by the same, um... well, love for beer and beef.
Finding a good location for a photoshoot is no easy task around here. But this is one of my favorite spots. It's one of the last cool places in our town that hasn't been torn down yet and replaced with bland looking condo buildings for young successful urban people.
Do all roads lead to Bonneville? Maybe, but believe me or not, there are more exciting ways to get there than logging on to your computer, booking a plane, renting a rental and then motoring down the freeway, aircondition on and cruise control set. For instance, you could do it like HAMB member Nick "Malcolm" Hoesing from Omaha Nebraska did: build the roadster of your dreams and then head off to the trip of a lifetime. Find Malcolm's travel log here on the HAMB. There's nothing like seeing the US of A through the windshield of a hot rod. (photos © Nick Hoesing)
A couple of weeks ago, I got an e-mail from Cal Thorley. He's the man behind Hot Rod Revue, a quality online video magazine from New Zealand. The latest issue features a fantastic model a roadster built along the lines of the legendary Doane Spencer deuce. Check out the killer video Cal made about this black beauty. And enjoy issue 6 of the Hot Rod Revue. Keep up the great work, Cal!
